Honors

2017: CGI was awarded a 10-dan title from Fox Weiqi website.
2017: Received NT$6,600,000 donation from HaiFong Weichi Foundation, Taiwan.
2017: Won the second place in “CITIC Securities Cup”, the 1st World AI Go Open, held in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China. Also won all games during the day-1 preliminary, including beating FineArt (developed by Tencent Inc.) and DeepZenGo, and received a prize of RMB$100,000.
2017: Won two games against Chun-Hsun Chou (9p) in IEEE FUZZ 2017 Go competitions. The first Go program developed at academic institutes winning professional 9 dan players in formal competitions.
2017: Won six golds (Dark chess, Mahjong, Go 9×9, Go 13×13, Chinese chess, Einstein) and one silver (Go 19×19) and one bronze (Othello) in the 20th Computer Olympiad.
2016: Won the sixth place and the best student award in the Go tournament of UEC-Cup 2016 in Japan.
2015: Won FIVE golds (Dark chess, Nogo, Nonogram, 2048 and Mahjong) and THREE silvers (Nogo, 2048 and Chinese chess) ONE bronze (Go 9×9) in the 18th Computer Olympiad in Leiden, the Netherlands.
2014: Won the Best Paper Award in the 2014 Conference on Technologies and Applications of Artificial Intelligence (TAAI 2014).
2014: Won the first and second places respectively in the Threes! and 2048 groups of Taiwan 2048 Bot Tournament.
2013: Won Distinguished Award for Industrial-University Collaboration Project sponsored by National Science Council (NSC), Taiwan.
2013: Won FIVE golds (Connect6, Dark chess, Nogo, Nonogram, and Mahjong) and TWO silvers (Nogo, and Chinese chess) in the 17th Computer Olympiad in Yokohama, Japan.
2013: Won Best Paper Awards in the International Conference on Computers and Games (CG 2013), Yokohama, Japan.
2011: Received distinguished teaching award in the College of Computer Science, at NCTU.
